"Media complaining about UFCs way of market Cain Vasquez

Last Saturday October 23rd at Anaheim, CA the UFC heavyweight title changed hands when undersized Cain Vasquez shocked the world by defeating the heavyweight monster Brock Lesnar in the 1st round with a TKO to become the first Mexican heavyweight champion of fighting. That fight was one of the biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history with alot of media attention, and the UFC promoted Cain Vasquez's Mexican heritage to tell people about a fighter that is proud of his heritage prior to the fight.

Some media critics of the UFC complained that they exploited Vasquez's Mexican heritage to build up the fight, and again the media takes a positive story turning it into something to look down upon when they should let the story be. The same media that critcizes the UFC for promoting Vasquez's heritage is the same media that would sympathize a Mexican rapist by blaming the system for his crime. The media's complaint of UFC promoting Vasquez's heritage shows how messed up thier minds our, but this blog will highlight the posivity of Vasquez's victory over Brock Lesnar.

First of all I want to write to state that I am a Brock Lesnar fan, but that does not mean I can appreciate the performance Vasquez did on him. People predicated that if Cain won, than it would be later in the 4th or 5th round. Majority of the fighters predicate that was how Cain was going to win, but no one predicate he would TKO Lesnar in the first round. That is very impressive considering Lesnar was outweighing him 20 lbs, and it shows that it takes more than size to be a successful MMA fighter. It takes skill in being a well round fighter, but also being in all rounded condition fighter that both takes years of training. That is what Cain Vasquez did to become the heavyweight world champion, and he also has a 9-0 record that has 8 out of them come by KO. He now has an opportunity to defend his title against Junior Do Santos, and it is going to be an interesting fight with both fighters having excellent boxing hands with very technical backgrounds. Vasquez accomplishments should not be overlook, and any heritage would have been proud in what he has accomplish thus far.

With the way UFC promoted Vasquez's heritage on Lesnar's stardom power that brought alot of media attention it allow the whole world Vasquez's accomplishment be seen in the world, and his name could become a household name. Vasquez did this with hardwork, because it is not easy to become an MMA fighter. Vasquez came from a wrestling background where in high school he was 110-10 in 4 years that included being a 2 time 5a wrestling champion at Kofa High School. He went onto wrestle after high school at Iowa Central Community College for one season to win the NCAA championship, than went onto Arizona State College for three seasons to end up with a record of 86-17. He also obtained a bs degree in education.

Vasquez's accomplishments should be admire not only by his heritage, but it should reflect what type of role model all heritages should be looking to. His accomplishments is what the media should be covering, and not critcize the UFC for the way they promoted him.
